Piccini 1882: five generations of excellence in Italian wine

Torre Mora was portrayed as the Piccini estate embracing Mount Etna’s slopes. Its winegrowing environment was defined by volcanic soils, elevations of 600–700 metres and a marked temperature difference between day and night.

Nerello Mascalese was identified as the leading variety, complemented by Nerello Cappuccio in Etna Rosso DOC, while Carricante formed the basis of Etna Bianco DOC. The rugged terrain required spurred-cordon training on small flat areas and alberello vines on terraces. The profile connected these cultivation choices with the estate’s objective of conveying Etna’s volcanic identity.
