The wines of the 2022 vintage will achieve excellence

The 2022 growing season was marked by a warm winter, limited precipitation and an exceptionally hot summer. Dry conditions helped maintain healthy fruit and reduced the need for vineyard intervention, while rain between August and September supported the final stage of ripening.

At Torre Mora, harvest began on 7 September, approximately two weeks earlier than customary. Alessandro Barabesi attributed the quality of ripening to the Etna microclimate: substantial day–night temperature shifts, vineyard altitude and constant northerly winds guided the grapes gradually through their phenological stages. Rain in early August and again during the first week of September, combined with successful flowering, produced a higher yield than in preceding years.
