The wines of the 2022 vintage will achieve excellence

The 2022 growing season combined an unusually warm, dry winter with demanding early-season vineyard work. In Chianti Classico, Fattoria di Valiano ultimately harvested fruit described as exceptionally well ripened.

Pasquale Presutto attributed the vines’ resilience to abundant spring rain, a winter prevention strategy that helped water penetrate toward deeper layers and cultivation practices that limited evaporation during the summer heat. Rain in mid-August relieved drought pressure and supported the final phase of ripening.
