UGA San Casciano: Wine Tastings, Tours, and Experiences in Chianti Classico

The hills of San Casciano in Val di Pesa form a natural amphitheatre at 250–350 m in the northernmost part of Chianti Classico. With only Monte Serra separating the area from the Tyrrhenian Sea, coastal ventilation and strong day-to-night temperature changes support balanced ripening and can advance harvest relative to surrounding zones.

San Casciano is one of the eleven Additional Geographical Units created to identify more homogeneous areas within Chianti Classico. Its clay, limestone and sandy soils contain rounded river pebbles, galestro and alberese. Villa Le Corti was among the founders of the San Casciano Classico association, which promotes the shared landscape and agricultural identity of the municipality.

The estate connects this identity with visits to the restored Italian gardens, guided tours of the 17th-century underground winery, wine and olive-oil tastings, cooking classes and meals based on ingredients from the organic garden. It also participates in the You Are Welcome network, linking cultural and landscape destinations with more conscious forms of tourism.
