Laudato Sie, the official wine of the Holy See, is born at Villa Russiz

Laudato Sie was created at Villa Russiz in Capriva del Friuli as a red blend of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Pinot Nero and Cabernet. The limited production comprises 5,000 bottles for official Holy See occasions. It grew from a twinning arrangement between Fondazione Villa Russiz and Borgo Laudato Si’ at Castel Gandolfo. The Friulian wine will serve the Holy See until the Vatican project’s own production becomes fully operational, expressing themes of care for creation associated with Pope Francis’s encyclical.
