Valpolicella Rêverie 2024: the return of the fiasco
Celestino Gaspari presented the 2024 vintage of Valpolicella Rêverie at Vinitaly in two formats: the conventional bottle and a traditional fiasco. The latter recalls a vessel long associated with the everyday life of Valpolicella families.
Valpolicella is positioned as the foundation of Zýmē’s winemaking identity. Historically, it functioned as a sustenance wine: immediate, shared at the family table after work and closely tied to meals and conviviality. Later interpretations pursued additional complexity and refinement.
The return to the fiasco is framed as contemporary rather than nostalgic. Simplicity, directness and an unembellished expression of nature are presented as newly relevant, particularly for younger drinkers. The format reconnects Valpolicella Rêverie with the idea of a wine belonging to people, land and daily life while allowing that identity to speak in the present.
