Tasting profile
The 2011 has fruity and floral aromas. The palate is refreshing and richly mineral, with light, salty notes reminiscent of the sea.
Label / history
The wine belongs to Collezione Bertani, a range of young, fruit-forward wines typical of Veneto. Bertani was founded in the mid-nineteenth century at Quinto di Valpantena, north of Verona, by the brothers Giovanni Battista and Gaetano Bertani. Their approach to viticulture and winemaking developed after meeting Mr. Guyot, a prominent wine-industry figure of the period. They introduced new cultivation and production techniques and were the first locally to sell wine in bottles rather than in the then-traditional oak barrels.
In 1888, almost 30 years after the winery’s foundation, the Academy of Agriculture, Arts and Commerce in Verona examined the brothers’ work from scientific and practical perspectives and granted them a special gold award. The winery and cellars are now in Grezzana.
