Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in the Valpolicella Classico area and the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella. Fruit intended for the wine is dried after harvest.
Grapes
The blend comprises Corvina and Corvinone (70% combined) and Rondinella (30%).
Vinification
Harvest takes place late, at the end of October, allowing the grapes to ripen fully and develop a high sugar concentration. The berries are selected according to their condition, acidity, sugar content, colour and suitability for extended drying. Alcoholic fermentation lasts more than one month; half of this period consists of cold maceration to extract colour and aroma.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels.
Label / history
“Recioto” translates as “ear,” referring to the protruding part of a grape cluster that receives abundant sunlight and is used to make the wine.
