Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese is grown in Emilia-Romagna, within the Rubicone IGT area. The alluvial soils of the Rubicon Valley retain moisture well while draining sufficiently, which helps the grapes stay juicy and ripen evenly. The Adriatic Sea softens the continental climate: warm days bring the grapes to ripeness, and cooler evenings preserve freshness and acidity. In this setting Sangiovese develops a softer, more open character than its Tuscan counterparts, with the emphasis on juicy fruit, freshness and an easy-drinking style.
Vinification
After harvest the grapes are sorted and gently crushed to preserve a clean fruit character. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, which helps retain the aromas of red cherry, wild berries and plum.
Ageing
A short period of ageing in stainless steel tanks keeps the wine fresh and direct.
Tasting profile
Juicy, fruit-forward and approachable, with bright berry flavours, soft tannins and a warm character. The nose shows red cherry, wild berries and plum. The style is fresh, direct and easy-drinking.
Serving and pairing
Suited to relaxed dinners and homemade Italian food.
Vintage notes
The 2025 vintage offers a good balance of ripeness and freshness.
