Cru Wine: Meaning
A cru is defined as a delimited vineyard or parcel whose soil, climate, exposure, altitude, microclimate, biodiversity and history give the resulting wine a distinct identity. Production is inherently limited by the site's area and may be governed by rules concerning yields, inputs, traditional methods and maturation.
Molin is Cà Maiol's principal cru. The vineyard adjoins the winery and includes very old Turbiana vines whose fruit is hand-harvested and matured for an extended period on fine lees.
