Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested into small crates and rigorously sorted on vibrating tables at the winery, then destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in truncated-cone stainless-steel vats for 3–4 weeks at 28 °C. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels for 25% of the wine and in stainless-steel tanks for the remaining 75%.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12 months, with 90% kept in new and used French oak barrels and 10% in steel vats. It then matures in bottle for a further six months.
Tasting profile
The nose is intriguing. The palate is balanced, with elegance, finesse and individuality.

Vintage notes
In 2019, Tuscany had a plentiful growing season. Spring was rainy and cooler than usual, delaying the start of flowering until warmer weather arrived in June. Summer temperatures remained within the normal range, with a good difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, while September stayed close to seasonal averages. Harvest began with Syrah and Merlot in the first week of September and ended with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in the first week of October. October had little rainfall overall, despite frequent rain. The resulting wines had excellent aromas, concentration and a refined texture.
Label / history
