Lavischio comes from Casavecchia, an estate in the Chianti area acquired in 1998. It belongs to the estate's range of Toscana IGT wines.

Tasting profile
The 2015 vintage had a deep, inky colour. Its aromatic profile combined ripe blackberry and dark cherry with spice, leather, tobacco, flowers and a touch of liquorice. Medium-full in body, it was structured and clearly defined, with juicy dark fruit, refreshing acidity and a persistent, inviting finish.
Vintage notes
The 2016 showed juicy berry and cherry fruit with a suggestion of tea, medium body, and tannins described as both firm and silky.
The 2019 combined blackcurrant with walnut and thyme. Fine tannins framed a medium-bodied palate and a fresh, attractive finish; it could be enjoyed young or held.
The 2020 was round and juicy, with abundant crushed-blackberry aroma, a medium-weight palate and a lightly firm structure. It was considered ready to drink when reviewed.
