Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow at around 500 metres above sea level in a cool Alpine climate, which preserves bright aromas and good acidity. The soils are deep clay with limestone gravel, which add character and structure to the wine.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. The must is clarified naturally by settling before fermentation, which takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages on the fine lees, which gives it a softer, fuller texture.
Tasting profile
A fresh, elegant white with layers of flavour that come together well. The nose and palate show apple, grapefruit, ripe apricot and subtle herbs. Lively acidity and a delicate texture give it a refined, food-friendly style, with clean aromas and gentle minerality.
Label / history
The name "Elisa" refers to Archduchess Elisabeth, Princess of Savoy-Carignano and wife of Archduke Rainer. Her portraits are still kept at Sallegg Castle.
