Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine is made only from grapes grown on the company's best plots. The Feudi del Pisciotto winery lies on the island of Sicily, 7 km from the sea, between Caltagirone and Piazza Armerina. The estate has 40 ha of vineyards planted with local varieties, from Nero d'Avola to Frappato, as well as international grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the first half of September and vinified in steel vats. At the winery, must and wine are moved into the vats by gravity, a method considered particularly suitable and efficient. The winery has state-of-the-art equipment and can process up to 10,000 hectolitres.
Ageing
The wine ages for 6 months in steel and concrete vessels, followed by 4 months in bottle. Both old and new cellars are used for ageing the wines of the estate.
