Our natural defenses in the Vineyard
Castello di Ama had already stopped using insecticides in favor of natural defenses. Where the resident beneficial-insect population was insufficient to control grape-feeding mealybugs, Bellavista was repopulated with two allies: Cryptolaemus, a predatory ladybird, and Anagyrus, a parasitoid of the pest. The intervention was intended both to protect the vineyard and to restore balance among species.
