Vineyard and terroir
The Lambrusco fruit comes from Cleto Chiarli’s own vineyards. The Chiarli family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards in the Lambrusco DOC production area.
Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed. The must is clarified and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks before undergoing a second fermentation. The result is a lightly sparkling, low-pressure style known in Italy as Frizzante.
Tasting profile
Refined in character.
Label / history
Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after managing Trattoria dell’Artigliere in central Modena, where he made Lambrusco for the restaurant’s regular customers. Their positive reception prompted him to begin producing it for wider sale.
In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a new winery at Azienda Agricola Castelvetro. Since 2003, this winery has produced Lambrusco under the “Cleto Chiarli” brand.
