Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed. The resulting must is clarified and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks before undergoing a second fermentation, producing a lightly sparkling, low-pressure Frizzante style.
Label / history
Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after making Lambrusco for regular customers at Trattoria dell'Artigliere in central Modena, where he had worked as manager. The favourable reception encouraged him to produce the wines for a wider market. Chiarli is identified as the oldest producer of Lambrusco and other wines in Emilia-Romagna.
In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a winery at the Azienda Agricola Castelvetro estate. The facility has produced Lambrusco under the “Cleto Chiarli” brand since 2003.
