Label / history
The wine was a favorite of Luciano Pavarotti. Chiarli traces its origins to 1860, when Cleto Chiarli, formerly the manager of Trattoria dell’Artigliere in central Modena, began producing for wider sale the Lambrusco he had made for the restaurant’s regular customers. The Chiarli family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards in the Lambrusco DOC production area. In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a new winery at Azienda Agricola Castelvetro; since 2003, the facility has produced Lambrusco under the “Cleto Chiarli” brand.
