Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed. The must is clarified and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks before undergoing a second fermentation, producing a lightly sparkling, low-pressure style known in Italy as Frizzante.
Tasting profile
Elegant in character.
Label / history
Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after managing Trattoria dell’Artigliere in central Modena, where he made Lambrusco for the restaurant’s regular customers. Their reception prompted him to begin producing wine for wider sale. The company is presented as the oldest producer of Lambrusco and other wines in Emilia-Romagna.
In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a winery at the Azienda Agricola Castelvetro estate. The modern facility has produced Lambrusco under the “Cleto Chiarli” brand since 2003.
