Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the company’s vineyards in Emilia-Romagna. The Chiarli family owns more than 90 ha of vineyards within the Lambrusco DOC production area.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo traditional sparkling-wine vinification at a controlled temperature.

Label / history

Cleto Chiarli founded the company in 1860 after managing Trattoria dell’Artigliere in central Modena, where he made Lambrusco for the restaurant’s regular customers. Encouraged by its reception, he began producing the wine for wider sale. In 2002, Mauro and Anselmo Chiarli decided to build a modern winery at the Azienda Agricola Castelvetro estate; since 2003, it has produced Lambrusco under the “Cleto Chiarli” brand.
