Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow at 250 metres above sea level on alluvial terraces on south-facing hills overlooking the Orcia and Ombrone rivers. The vineyard is planted at a fairly high density.
Vinification
The grapes are selected and harvested by hand in the early morning to avoid excessive heat. After harvest, they are chilled to 8–10 °C and gently pressed, after which the juice is separated. Fermentation lasts 10–12 days at 16–18 °C.
Ageing
The wine is aged in French oak barrels.
