Vineyard and terroir

The 2024 season in Sicily brought a dry autumn and winter, a dry spring and a hot summer without rainfall. Harvest ran from the first through the fourth week of September.

Grapes

100% Frappato.

Vinification

On arrival at the winery, the bunches are destemmed and transferred to fermentation tanks. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with the juice remaining in contact with the skins for about 15 days. Malolactic fermentation follows racking.

Ageing

The wine matures in tanks for at least 3 months and rests in bottle for 1 month before release.

2024 vintage. Alcohol: 12% vol. Total acidity: 6.5 g/L. pH: 3.18. Bottle format: 750 mL.

Tasting profile

Vibrant red with purple highlights. The complex bouquet brings together rose and violet with wild strawberry and blackberry. Elegant and fresh on the palate, with soft, velvety tannins and a pleasantly persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Suited to a refreshing aperitif or a toast with friends, especially alongside fish or white-meat dishes.

Label / history

The wine is intended to convey the distinctive character of its Sicilian place of origin. Its label features Renato Guttuso’s 1959 oil painting Paesaggio dell’Aspra.
