Vineyard and terroir

The 2024 Sicilian growing season was marked by a dry autumn and winter, followed by a dry spring and a hot summer without rainfall.

Grapes

100% Grillo.

Vinification

Harvest extended from mid-August to the end of September. On arrival at the cellar, the bunches were destemmed and gently pressed in soft presses to extract the free-run must. Fermentation proceeded at a controlled temperature.

Ageing

The wine remained in contact with its fine lees for at least three months, followed by one month of ageing before release.

Technical data

12.5% vol. alcohol, total acidity of 5.8 g/L and pH 3.25. The listed format is 75 cl.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow with greenish reflections. Grapefruit and jasmine mingle with tropical notes of mango and papaya. The palate is enveloping and direct, balancing pronounced freshness and tanginess with suppleness before a long, persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif and with light fish-based meals. Pair with fish soup, shellfish or raw seafood.

Label / history

Part of Gli Autentici di Sicilia, a contemporary, vibrant interpretation of Grillo shaped around freshness, structure and Mediterranean aromas. The line’s presentation references Renato Guttuso’s Paesaggio dell’Aspra (1959).
