Vineyard and terroir

Vermentino grown at Tenuta di Suor Marchesa in Riesi, within the municipality of Butera in south-central Sicily. The 2024 season brought a dry autumn and winter followed by a dry spring. Summer was hot and rainless, with marked differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures.

Grapes

100% Vermentino.

Vinification

The grapes were harvested in the second half of August. After destemming and gentle pressing, the must fermented at a controlled temperature for approximately 15 days.

Ageing

The wine remained on its fine lees, formed through the lysis of fermentation yeasts, for at least four months. Bottle ageing continued for at least one month before release.

Technical data

The 2024 wine has total acidity of 5.8 g/L and pH 3.24. The English presentation gives 11.5% vol., while the Italian presentation gives 13% vol. The listed format is 75 cl.

Tasting profile

Bright yellow with greenish reflections. Mediterranean aromas combine aromatic herbs with marine nuances. The palate is fresh and fruity, lightly tangy and notably persistent.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 6–8 °C. Pair with fish starters, crustaceans, raw seafood, delicate seafood first courses, grilled fish or white meats. Its profile also suits a light, refined lunch.

Vintage notes

The wine page presents the 2024 vintage. The official shop currently identifies the 2025 vintage and describes a broader, velvety palate marked by freshness and light salinity.

Label / history

Sentiero del Vento was conceived as a new Sicilian interpretation of Vermentino and as an expression of the desire to explore new paths. Its line uses photographs by Bagheria photographer Mimmo Pintacuda; this label features Sulla Battigia (1965).
