Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the Toscana IGT area. The Vermentino comes from young plants, while the native Colombana vines are more than 70 years old.
Vinification
The grapes usually reach optimal ripeness in the second half of September and are harvested by hand during the cooler hours of the day. After careful sorting and gentle pressing, the must undergoes cold fermentation for around 30 days under constant temperature control and without contact with oxygen.
Ageing
Before release, the wine rests for several months in bottle in the winery’s cellar.
Tasting profile
Refreshing, with fruit and mineral notes and a soft, balanced palate.
Label / history
The name “Fonte Delle Donne”, meaning “Women’s Spring”, refers to a spring near Terricciola in western Tuscany. Local people believe that its water benefits breastfeeding women.
