The vineyards are situated at 500 m above sea level, with southern and southwestern exposures. The vines are between three and 30 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo an extended, careful selection on a sorting table.
Tasting profile
Full-flavoured, with cherry notes and a rich aroma marked by vanilla and oak.
Label / history
Gagliole is a small locality whose recorded history dates to 994 AD. Thomas and Monika Bär purchased 30 ha there in 1990, including 8 ha of vineyards. They subsequently modernised and equipped the winery, retaining Stefano Chioccioli as consultant and chief oenologist and Dr Tobias Frommann as agronomist.
