Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vines aged 15–20 years, with yields kept below 70 quintals per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in early September and destemmed immediately. The must ferments at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures in steel vessels for four months.
Tasting profile
Residual sugar gives the wine a semi-dry character.
Label / history
The modern bottle has an unusual fabric-like label, with a distinct texture and colour used for each wine. Borgo Magredo’s modern development began in 1989, when Genagricola acquired the estate and began modernising its vineyards in Friuli. Over the following 20 years, more than 200 hectares were replanted, including plots of experimental grape varieties. Equipment, production methods and cellar facilities were also upgraded, with a major programme completed by 2004.
