Giovanni Rosso launches Etna Bianco Pietra Marina Ester Canale Rosso
Davide Rosso’s Etna path began with his 2014 exploration of the volcano’s soils, native varieties and microclimates. The family acquired Contrada Montedolce in 2016, continued cultivating Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, and converted an old palmento into a modern winery. In 2023 it expanded with 2 hectares in Contrada Pietra Marina. Near the Alcantara River, the site combines volcanic sand and ash, fluvial silt and sand, and sandstone outcrops. Constant wind and strong temperature changes support slow ripening. The new white, named Ester Canale Rosso, was presented as a union of this site with the family’s values of land stewardship, artisanal care and precision.
