Label / history
First produced from the 2000 harvest, the wine takes its name from the shared “Blau” in the names Blaufränkisch and Blauburgunder. The Jermann family has cultivated Blaufränkisch, historically known to them as Franconia, since the 1800s.
Silvio Jermann created the wine to revive his grandfather’s Blaufränkisch tradition and reconnect with his family’s Central European roots. He dedicated it to his youngest child, Silvia Tunina, who was born on the day that “Vintage Tunina” was named “Best White Wine in Italy.”
