Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard lies at 250 m above sea level in Carso Triestino. Its red soil and limestone rock provide effective drainage, while temperature variations are influenced by the Bora. Planting density is 5,500 vines per hectare, with yields of 1.5 kg per vine. The winery has spent more than 15 years examining the relationship between this terroir and Chardonnay’s varietal character.
Ageing
After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in old French oak barriques and a further six months in stainless-steel tanks. It is bottled without filtration.
