Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine is made at the La Madonnina winery in the Bolgheri area, from 4 hectares of vineyards. The soils are sandy clay scattered with stones, which give good drainage and help concentrate flavour in the grapes. The vines are trained with the Guyot system, which helps control yields and retain aromatic intensity. Their average age is around 16 years, giving a balance of ripeness and energy, with both depth and freshness.
Vinification
Harvest runs from mid-September to mid-October, so that each parcel can reach optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with around 14 days of skin contact, extracting colour and aroma while keeping the fruit flavours clean and clear. Malolactic fermentation follows in oak barrels, softening the acidity and adding a creamy texture.
Ageing
16 months in new French barriques.
Tasting profile
Rich, inviting and refined, with a distinctly Tuscan character, gentle warmth and a deep aroma. Barrique ageing brings notes of vanilla, spice and delicate tobacco alongside a fruit-driven character. The malolactic fermentation adds a creamy texture.
