Terroir
La Madonnina is a small estate in Bolgheri, comprising a historic farmhouse, a vineyard, an olive grove, and a large orchard, tucked away behind the lush Macchia del Bruciato woodland. The estate is protected on its western side by the Guado al Tasso estate, owned by the Marquises Antinori.
Vinificazione
The vineyards are planted at high density, at around 10,000 vines per hectare, with an average yield of no more than 500 grams per vine.
La Madonnina's wines are mostly Super Tuscan blends, made to express the terroir as fully as possible and capture its special atmosphere. The vineyards and winemaking are overseen by the oenologist Riccardo Cotarella.
