Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the vineyard of the same name in the commune of Val d’Orcia, at an altitude of 110 metres.
Vinification
Each variety is fermented separately in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at 18–24 °C. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine is transferred with its lees to French oak barrels and aged for 12 months. The barrels are 50% new, 25% previously used and 25% in their third year of use.
Label / history
Masi has worked with the Serego Alighieri estate for almost 40 years. The estate, covering 130 ha of gentle hills in the Valpolicella area, has belonged to descendants of Dante since 1353. More recently, Masi and Serego Alighieri acquired the “Poderi del Bello Olive” vineyard in Val d’Orcia, Tuscany, symbolising the Alighieri family’s return to its historical roots.
