Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in Salento, planted on gentle hills and plains in a warm climate. The soils are clay and limestone. Fruit from different vineyards is blended to provide complexity, structure, aromatic breadth and depth of flavour.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-August. After a short maceration, they are gently pressed and fermented at 12 °C to preserve their aromas and flavours. The wine is made close to the vineyards, then blended and bottled at Li Veli.
Tasting profile
Fresh in character, with a broad range of aromas, complexity, structure and depth of flavour.
Label / history
The Falvo family launched the independent Contrade project in 2015. The name comes from the Latin for “a plot of land” and refers to named vineyards bordered by olive trees, stone walls or other natural features. The label’s graphic is a reinterpretation of a window at Basilica di Santa Croce in Lecce.
