Masseria Li Veli

Founding\nLi Veli was founded almost a century ago by Marquis Antonio de Viti de Marco (1858–1943), an internationally renowned Italian economist, university professor, and member of parliament for Italy's Radical Party.\n\n### 1999 – Change of Ownership\nIn 1999, Li Veli was purchased by the Falvo family, the former owners of the Avignonesi estate in Tuscany. The vineyards were planted with native grape varieties such as Primitivo and Negroamaro. Through careful management of its winemaking processes, Li Veli set a new standard for the quality of wines from Puglia.\n\n### Today\nThe beautifully restored and carefully maintained estate covers 35 hectares and includes vineyards, offices, winemaking facilities, and cellars.

Li Veli is located in Puglia, in southwestern Italy, in the "heel" of the Italian "boot." Puglia is Italy's largest wine-producing region.

The vineyards are planted using the Settonce pattern, named for its 7 points ("sette" means "seven" in Italian), with one vine at the center surrounded by six others forming six equilateral triangles. This layout exposes more leaves to sunlight while allowing excellent airflow around the vines.
