Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Li Veli’s youngest vines, which are 10–20 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in late August, placed in small boxes, sorted and pressed. Fermentation takes place under controlled conditions at 22–28 °C to retain the grape’s colour, flavour and aroma. Malolactic fermentation follows in French oak barrels.
Ageing
After tasting and selection, the wine matures for six months in 225 L barrels.
Tasting profile
Clean and fresh, with bright fruit aromas and a persistent finish.
Label / history
The name “Orion” has Greek roots and refers to the road near Li Veli’s vineyards called the Greek Border (Limite dei Greci). In ancient times, the road was traditionally regarded as the boundary between Lombard territory to the north and the area under Byzantine rule to the southeast.
