Blind tasting: the sensory experience at Cantina Mesa

The experience asks participants to close their eyes and reassess wine without color or labels. Removing sight is intended to heighten smell, taste, touch and intuition, allowing aromas, textures and flavor sensations to emerge without visual expectations.

Gavino Sanna’s recorded words and a soundscape from the Sulcis accompany the tasting. The format treats wine as a trigger for memories, images and emotional associations rather than solely as an analytical object.

Four representative wines form the sequence: Giunco and Opale as two expressions of Vermentino, followed by Buio and Buio Buio as two interpretations of Carignano. The experience is available in Italian and English and pairs the wines with typical Sardinian foods.
