Harvest time in the Sulcis

Harvest at Sant’Anna Arresi is portrayed as the culmination of the agricultural year and a record of each vintage. In 2025, a mild winter with almost no rain advanced every vegetative stage. Budbreak came early and yields were limited, especially in vineyards without irrigation.

Carignano and Vermentino nevertheless demonstrated their adaptation to the conditions. Bunches reached maturity healthy and aromatic, with good acidity, including fruit from older vineyards.

Picking begins early in the day. Grapes are harvested manually and selected one by one, then taken to the winery for destemming and gentle crushing. Fermentations are followed without forcing, seeking to retain the identity of each grape variety and parcel. The account contrasts Giunco’s saline, wind-shaped Vermentino profile with Buio’s lively tannins and the character of Carignano grown in dry ground.
