Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Sicilian vineyards, where a hot climate and sea breezes give wines that balance freshness and warmth. Plentiful sunshine lets the grapes build up sugar, which suits them to sweeter styles of wine.
Vinification
Vinification follows traditional methods, closely supervised by the company's leading specialists. To retain the wine's natural sweetness, fermentation is stopped by rapidly lowering the temperature in the tanks.
Tasting profile
Semi-dry, refined and well balanced, combining the warmth of Sicily with the elegance of Pinot Noir.
Serving and pairing
A versatile single-varietal wine that pairs easily with international dishes and can also be enjoyed on its own.
Vintage notes
The description gives the vintage as 2023 but says nothing of its weather.
Label / history
"Anterra" means "ancient land" in Italian. The name was chosen for this new Mezzacorona range as a tribute to the long and rich winemaking history of the peninsula. The range is produced by Nosio Spa, which oversees the bottling of still wines and the production of Rotari sparkling wines, and manages the marketing of the Mezzacorona Group. Nosio Spa owns two estates in Sicily.
