Artist labels for large-format MonBirone 2018 Centenary Edition

Emiliano Scarsi hand-painted and numbered the labels of every large-format MonBirone 2018 Centenary Edition bottle. He used the 2018 wine itself for the background, combining it with durable, vivid acrylic colours so that every label differed. The project covered 100 magnums, 10 jeroboams and five balthazars.

Scarsi was born in 1978, studied at the Art High School in Alba and learned wrought-iron work in his family workshop. His artistic interests include illustration, comics and the immediate visual impact of surfaces. His workshop at Via MonBirone 23 gives him a direct personal connection to the vineyard hill.
