Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards at 450–500 m above sea level, on limestone soils rich in schist. The vines are 25 years old on average.
Grapes
Predominantly Merlot, with a small amount of Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand from late September through the first ten days of October. After crushing and destemming, fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled steel tanks for 15–20 days, which gives the wine its deep colour.
Ageing
The wine is bottled after a short period of ageing.
