Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown in Lombardy, in the province of Pavia. The landscape is rolling, the climate moderate and the soils fertile.

Vinification

The grapes are pressed gently, with stems and stalks removed to give clean must. The must is separated from the skins to keep the wine's pale colour and avoid excessive tannins. Alcoholic fermentation runs at a constant temperature with cultured yeast.

Ageing

The wine is bottled without ageing, which helps it keep its light style.

Tasting profile

Rich straw-yellow colour. The nose shows fresh citrus notes and floral hints. Light and elegant in style.

Label / history

"Albinelli" is a collection created by Perlino, inspired by the Italian philosophy of enjoyment, in which wine is part of conversation, good food and atmosphere. The collection brings together well-known Italian wine regions, grape varieties and wine styles. The name is Italian, with roots in medieval Emilia-Romagna, and is also the name of Modena's best-known market. Merchants from Emilia-Romagna traded there from the Middle Ages, selling wine, vinegar, cheese and cured meat to other regions and neighbouring countries and bringing back spirits, oil and wines. They did not buy vineyards. They travelled through Italy's regions, selected quality wines and brought them home to sell. A member of the extended family always travelled with the goods to oversee transport and choose what would be sent back to Modena. Perlino took inspiration from this approach, which combined a love of wine, knowledge of oenology and commercial experience.
