Solenida di Podernovo launched
Solenida di Podernovo was introduced as a pure Sangiovese created with oenologist Luca D’Attoma to interpret the estate's vine-covered hill in the colline pisane. Its fruit came from a rigorous selection in an old estate vineyard growing on sandy loam with clay and fossil shells deposited more than three million years ago.
The 2015 debut vintage was vinified partly in stainless steel and partly in amphora, followed by 24 months in oak and another 24 months in bottle. Its name refers to the fossil Solenidae shell found in the estate's soils. The wine carried both organic and Biodiversity Friend certification.
