Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese is grown in 8 hectares of Tuscan vineyards with clay soils and numerous limestone layers. Yields are 4,000 kg/ha.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the second half of September. After 24 days of skin maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in 3,000-litre oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine ages in 3,000-litre oak barrels.
Label / history
Sotirio is named after the founder of the Bulgari family. He left his native Epirus for Rome in 1884 and opened a silver jewellery shop on Via Sistina.
