Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown at Palazzone, in Siena, at 340–380 m above sea level. The vineyards have clay soils containing limestone, gravel and sand.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates during the final ten days of September. The must macerates on the skins for 30 days before alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in 225 L oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine ages in 225 L oak barrels.
Label / history
The name “Therra” refers to the ancient, primal forces of the Tuscan earth.
