Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Pianesi, Covelli, Tornabuoni and Palaia sites on Faedo Hill, at 300–750 m above sea level. Winds from nearby Lake Garda ventilate the hill. The vineyards are planted at 6,500 vines per hectare, primarily on sandstone, siltstone, loamy rock, limestone and dolomite soils.
Vinification
The grapes are processed without exposure to oxygen to preserve their delicate aromas, using a patented method developed by Pojer e Sandri.
Tasting profile
Straw-yellow in the glass, the wine is full and fresh, with a clear structure and gentle mineral acidity. Tropical fruit and apple aromas are accompanied by light vanilla and Italian spice notes. These flavours linger on the palate, while subtle smoky nuances emerge after the wine has rested briefly in the glass.
Label / history
Pojer e Sandri was founded in 1975, when Florentino Sandri inherited vineyards in the mountain village of Faed and winemaker Mario Pojer graduated from the San Michele Agricultural Institute. The winery’s first release that year was Muller Thurgau “Pala”. Its classically styled labels feature engravings by Albrecht Dürer.
