Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Sauvignon Blanc fruit comes from two sites on the Faedo hill. Palai lies on the southern side at 700 m above sea level, while Frait is on the southwestern side at 400 m.
Ageing
After fermentation, the wine rests in stainless-steel tanks, protected from oxygen and kept under constant temperature control.
Tasting profile
The nose is intensely and cleanly fruity. The palate is exceptionally soft and juicy, with bright acidity and a slight bitterness that persists from the first sip through the finish.
Label / history
Pojer e Sandri was founded in 1975, when Fiorentino Sandri inherited vineyards in the high-altitude village of Faed and his winemaker friend Mario Pojer graduated from the San Michele Agricultural Institute. They sought to demonstrate that high-quality wine could be made between the Adige River and the Cembra Valley. The estate's first wine, released in 1975, was Müller-Thurgau “Pala”. Its classically styled labels feature engravings by Albrecht Dürer. As the company expanded, it acquired six vineyards in Faedo and the San Michele hotels in the Cembra Valley.
