Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in Puglia, where the climate is hot and dry and moderated by coastal winds. Days are warm and sunny and nights cool, which helps preserve acidity and aromatic complexity. The soils are mainly limestone, which gives the wine minerality and good structure.

Grapes

The red varieties in the blend change from year to year.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October, for optimal phenolic ripeness. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to keep the fresh fruit aromas. Extended maceration extracts colour and tannins. Malolactic fermentation follows, softening the acidity and stabilising the wine. Every batch is tested in the laboratory before bottling to confirm it meets quality standards.

Ageing

The wine ages for 6–8 months in French and American oak barrels. The oak adds subtle spice and vanilla notes to the bouquet.

Tasting profile

The nose is inviting, with ripe red berries, plum and delicate spices. The palate is soft, with clear fruit and berry notes, hints of pepper and balanced tannins. The finish is pleasant. Minerality and good structure are noted. It is a classic, easy-drinking red.

Serving and pairing

It suits pasta and grilled meat, and casual gatherings.

Label / history

Vinous awarded it 91 points for its balance and depth of flavour. Decanter highlighted its "expressive fruit character and refined tannins." The text also reports silver and gold medals at Vinitaly and the Berliner Wein Trophy, without naming the vintages or the medal for each competition.
