The fruit is grown in Bolgheri.
Vinification
The 2013 harvest began on 10 September, ten days later than usual. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The must remained in contact with the skins for 16 days, then was filtered and continued fermenting.
Ageing
The wine matured in oak barrels for 12–14 months, followed by six months in the winery’s cellars after bottling.

Vintage notes
The 2013 season had a rainy winter and spring. Below-average temperatures delayed flowering by ten days. Summer temperatures were average, with fairly warm nights, and September was unexpectedly dry.
Label / history
The wine was released as part of the Barone Ricasoli project, the winery’s first clear move towards exploring different approaches to significant Tuscan wines.
