Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from old vines, some of them ungrafted, in the lower part of the Sulcis region in southwestern Sardinia. The coastal soils contribute a touch of salty minerality.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages for 10 months in French oak barrels, giving a well-judged balance between oak and fruit.
Tasting profile
Powerful, warm and Mediterranean in character, yet remarkably elegant. The nose shows Mediterranean herbs, southern spices and ripe, sun-warmed fruit, with a touch of salty minerality. A true Carignano with classic power, intensity and polished style.
